The early days of sanctioned drag racing saw the development of a new type of race car, with a long, narrow, and streamlined body, a potent race-tuned engine, and a driver sitting well behind the rear wheels (which is where the term "slingshot" came from.) One of the most popular of the early fuel dragsters was the Cook & Bedwell Special, from which Monogram Models drew its design inspiration to create their Slingshot Dragster kit.
Galaxie Limited is proud to bring back the Slingshot Dragster kit
in a limited edition special that echoes the original kit in every
way, including the vintage box art. Features of the Slingshot Dragster
kit include plastic parts molded in color, 4 two-piece black plastic
racing tires, Moon disc and Halibrand racing wheels, and a full-color
decal sheet with all the original kit's graphics.
Paint and cement for plastic models are required for assembly,
and are not included. Your local hobby shop can provide you with
those finishing materials needed to build and complete Galaxie Limited's
dragster kits.
